They are built by the greatest architects for wealthy and famous people, but they are also models of that international style that has revealed both our elegance and our good taste, as the several architects expressly interviewed for the books collection have pointed out. THE AUTHORS:
Giancarlo Gardin: He is one of the most important international photographers of architecture and landscape. He is famous for his collaborations with imporatant magazines such as Architectural Digest. He is also world-wide author of famous books. His beginnings are to be found in his passion for painting, directly leading him to photography. In the '80s he makes his choice and specializes in gardens, architecture and interiors, where he finds the world he had imagined since his childhood.
Giuliana Bianchi: She becomes a journalist thanks to her father Pietro Bianchi, the most important film critic of his generation. She takes a degree in Architecture at Milan's Polytechnic, which enables her to combine her two passions in her profession of journalist specialized in architecture, furnishing and design. She has collaborated with Time Europe and Time International. She also founded and edited the italian magazines La Mia Casa and Elle Decor. She is now working as a consultant and free-lance author.
Diego Giovanoli: Born in Soglio (Switzerland) in 1938, he teached in Val Bregaglia and lives in Malans since 1974. Expert on the cultural heritage of the Graubünden, in the Retic Alps region of ancient latin culture, a contributor for 25 years to Denkmalpflege, Historic Monuments Service. Author of a great many studies and publications, he is a member of the Swiss Countryside Fund Commission.
Nani Prina: he has been a practising architect since 1965 and editor of the monthly magazine VilleGiardini (Case nel Verde) since 1969. He combines these two activities by designing buildings, spaces and products to suit the quality of place and the economic stipulations and user needs of an extensive array of people. His motto is build well to live well.
Riccardo Bianchi: he is an architecture,design and cinema researcher, and art critic.He wrote Homes in Engadine, and with M. Vercelloni signed the book Design, published by Electa. He writes on AD, Goya, Traveller and Vogue.
