GIANNI GAMONDI was born in
Alessandria in 1937 and graduated in
architecture from Milan Polytechnic
in 1966. Immediately starting work
on the Costa Smeralda, he specialised
in the tourism sector and has
built villas, villages, hotels, resorts
and golf all over the world. His more
important projects include the comp
l exes of Porto Rotondo, Rosarda
and Puntaldia in Sardinia, the Krizia
Club in Barbuda, the design for the
Emerald Cove Resort in Antigua
and some 250 private homes for
celebrities in the Italian and intern ational
jet set.
GIANCARLO GARDIN is a photograp
h e r. Born in Treviso in 1954, he
embarked on his profession in 1975,
focusing on sports, advertising, fashion
and furniture. Since 1980, he has
been specialising in photographing
architecture, interior design and gardens,
producing exclusive photographic
reportages for publication in
the world's leading international specialised
magazines, books and
brochures. In 1999, he established the
publisher Archideos Libri, with which
he has already published the volumes
Case di Sardegna (Houses in Sardinia
- 1999) and Case di Engadina
(Houses in Engadin - 2002).
This book is a collection of fifty
photo shoots in the private villas
and residential and hotel
complexes designed and built
by the Milanese architect
Gianni Gamondi on the Costa
Smeralda and the Côte d'Azur,
in the Caribbean, in Ireland and
in Lombardy, from the seventies

GIANNI GAMONDI, nato ad

nel settore del turismo e costruendo

golf in ogni parte del mondo.
Tra le sue realizzazioni più significative:

GIANCARLO GARDIN fotografo,
nato a Treviso nel 1954, inizia la
sua attività professionale nel

sportiva, pubblicità, moda e
arredamento. Dal 1980 si dedica
alla fotografia di architettura,
interni e giardini, producendo
reportage esclusivi pubblicati
sulle più importanti riviste specializzate
internazionali, in libri e brochures.
Nel 1999 fonda la casa editrice
Archideos Libri, per la quale realizza
i volumi Case di Sardegna
(1999) e Case di Engadina (2002).
Questo volume raccoglie 50
reportage fotografici sulle
ville private e i complessi
residenziali e alberghieri per
la vacanza costruiti dall'architetto
milanese Gianni
Gamondi in Costa Smeralda,
Costa Azzurra, ai Caraibi, in
Irlanda e Lombardia, dagli
anni Settanta al 2003. La
pubblicazione, che inaugura
la collana monografica
dedicata agli Architetti
d'oggi di Archideos Libri,
illustra gli esiti di uno
straordinario work in progress
di documentazione
iconografica condotto dal
fotografo Giancarlo Gardin
nell'arco di due decenni di
monitoraggio tempestivo e
solerte dell'attività di
Gamondi: una sorta di cronistoria
d'autore o biografia
per immagini "in tempo
reale", dedicata al profilo -
tuttora in gran parte inedito
- di uno dei progettisti
italiani tra i più apprezzati e
operosi, a livello intern a z i onale,
nel settore dell'architettura
